"Fluid hips and recovery speed are unteachable traits, and Jyaire Hill has them in spades. His ability to flip and run with vertical threats gives him natural value in Cover 3 and Cover 1 schemes. While he can struggle against breaking routes and needs to refine his press discipline, his athletic profile is an ideal mold for development. He projects as a CB2/3 with starter potential in the right system."

Hill is 6-2 and 190 pounds, which is the first thing every report about him mentions and the reason Michigan kept starting him through an uneven development curve. He played four games as a freshman in 2023, took over real snaps in 2024 with 35 tackles, and produced his best season in 2025: 36 tackles, 24 of them solo, one interception and five pass breakups, including a pick off Ohio State.

What he does well
  • 01Length — At 6-2 with a boundary corner build he contests the fade and the back-shoulder throw that shorter corners simply concede, and Michigan trusted him on that side all year.
  • 02Downhill trigger — Scouting reports credit quick play recognition against screens, navigating under and around blocks and finishing the tackle rather than stalling at the perimeter.
