"He started an opener at left tackle as a true freshman, which almost nobody does, and then spent two years proving the pedigree was real before a hamstring and a transfer reset the story."

01Play style

Seaton looks the part before the ball is snapped. He is 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds with the build of a professional left tackle already, and he moves like a player who was recruited as the best offensive lineman in the country. His set is patient rather than panicked, he mirrors well enough to survive against speed without conceding the inside, and he plays with a temperament that his coaches have repeatedly described as violent — he finishes blocks and looks for extra work.

Where the tape gets uneven is in the details of sustaining. He is at his best in the first two seconds of a rep, when his size and initial punch do most of the work; the longer a rush lasts, the more he relies on strength recovery rather than clean footwork. He allowed three sacks as a true freshman while protecting a first-round quarterback, which is a genuinely good number in context, but the technical refinement has not clearly outpaced the physical gifts yet.

02Scheme fit
/ scheme

A gap-and-power run scheme with play-action off it, where his size and initial punch matter more than extended lateral range.

Year 1: starting left tackle. Ceiling: long-term blindside starter with Pro Bowl traits if the technique catches up. He is a first-punch, displacement blocker right now. An offense that shortens the rep for him — quick game, play-action, downhill runs — gets the best version while the technique matures.

04The evaluation

The evaluation has to start with the résumé, because it is unusual. Twenty-two games, twenty-two starts, every one of them at left tackle in a power conference, beginning with a season opener as a true freshman — the first in Colorado history to do that. He was a true freshman All-American, a preseason All-American the following year, an Outland Trophy watch-list name and second-team All-Big 12 despite a shortened season.

The 2025 year is the complication. He hurt his hamstring against Wyoming in September, missed time, and finished with nine games and nine starts, which is why the season reads as a step sideways rather than the leap the preseason lists predicted. He then transferred to LSU, where ESPN ranked him the number one offensive tackle and the number four overall player in the portal, joining a rebuilt front.

That makes 2026 the whole evaluation. He has two years of eligibility, a new offensive line room and a conference that will show him elite rushers weekly. If he strings together a full, healthy season and the technique catches up to the frame, he is a top-ten pick. If the hamstring lingers or the reps stay uneven late in downs, he is a high-upside developmental tackle who goes off traits.

05Strengths
  1. 01

    Frame and pedigree

6-foot-5, 307 pounds with the build teams draft in the first round, and the recruiting profile of the best offensive lineman in his class.

  2. 02

    Early starting experience

Twenty-two career starts at left tackle in a power conference, beginning with a season opener as a true freshman.

  3. 03

    Initial punch

His first strike resets rushers and ends a large share of reps before technique ever becomes the deciding factor.

  4. 04

    Temperament

Coaches and team media have repeatedly described him as one of the most violent finishers in the building, and the run tape backs the reputation.

  5. 05

    Freshman protection numbers

Allowed three sacks over his first full season protecting a first-round quarterback blindside, a strong figure for an eighteen-year-old.

06Concerns
  1. 01

    Late-rep sustain

The longer a pass rush lasts, the more he leans on strength recovery instead of clean feet, and counters late in the down still find him.

  2. 02

    Hamstring history

A September 2025 hamstring injury cost him games and turned a projected leap into a nine-start season.

  3. 03

    Technique lag

The refinement has not clearly outpaced the physical gifts, so much of the projection still rides on traits rather than proven method.

  4. 04

    New environment

He arrives at LSU with a new scheme, new line coach and new teammates, and the 2026 tape is the sample the entire evaluation now rests on.

Jordan's RAS will publish once the official testing drops.

The Relative Athletic Score needs the 40, vertical, broad jump, shuttle and 3-cone — numbers that don't exist until the NFL Combine or pro day. Until then we grade the OT on percentiles vs. his positional cohort (see athletic radar below).

09Pro comparisons
/ LIKELY
Broderick Jones

A blue-chip athlete drafted on traits and pedigree who needs pro coaching to smooth out technique before the play matches the profile.

/ CEILING
Penei Sewell

Same category of teenage phenom with rare size, mean streak and early starting reps against grown men; the ceiling is that kind of tone-setter.

/ FLOOR
Amarius Mims

If availability keeps limiting the sample, he stays a tantalizing tackle with fewer starts than the talent deserves.
