"Ashton Hampton was a Freshman All-American at Clemson with two interceptions, then broke up ten passes as a sophomore. Six-foot-two corners who can actually press are the rarest commodity in any draft."
A four-star recruit from Tallahassee who played immediately at Clemson, Hampton posted 32 tackles, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown as a Freshman All-American in 2024, then followed with 45 tackles, ten pass breakups, an interception and a sack in 2025. He is 6-2 and 205 pounds with genuine press ability and the physicality to hold up in run support, and he enters 2026 as Clemson's clear number one corner.
What he does well
- 01Arm length and disruptive jam — Uses his reach aggressively to nullify the receiver's release at the line, disrupting route timing from the first step.
- 02Hip transition and pedal fluidity — Maintains a low pad level, allowing him to react to sudden cuts and close space with explosiveness on routes.
