Full-time starter in Steve Sarkisian's pro-style spread, Manning works from the gun and from under center, with dropback, play-action and RPO split fairly evenly. The trait that shows first is pre-snap command: he sets protection, checks into the right run and gets the ball out on rhythm. Mechanically he is compact — quiet base, weight forward, high release, easy velocity on the dig and the out-breaker.
Behind that is a runner who counts. He is not a designed scrambler, but he keeps on read-option, converts short yardage and climbs the pocket instead of bailing wide. Arm strength holds up to the boundary, and he can take speed off the ball for a red-zone fade. The signature is tempo: fast on schedule, patient when the first read dies.

The evaluation starts with an identity rarer than the arm: he plays the position from the neck up. Texas asks him to carry the mental load of a pro offense — motion, protection changes, tempo — and the operation almost never breaks down. He is a rhythm thrower who wants a defined picture and punishes one when he gets it.
Production backs it. In 2025, his first full season starting, he completed 248 of 404 attempts for 3,163 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions across 13 games, and added 399 yards and 10 scores on the ground. Industry-wide he lives in the top handful of the 2027 class, and our board has him fifth — high enough for the floor of a plug-in starter, short of the top slot because the second-reaction layer is still theoretical. What moves him up is a season of clean decision-making against SEC coverage disguise, especially on throws that demand anticipation pre-break. What moves him down is a repeat of the pressure tape: late eyes, drifting feet, a ball into traffic because he believes he can.
