"Anthony Smith went from six sacks to 12.5 and first-team All-Big Ten in one season. He is 6-6 and 285 pounds, and that combination of size and production does not sit on boards for long."
A four-star recruit from Shippensburg, Pennsylvania who took the long developmental road at Minnesota, Smith went from 15 tackles as a rotational piece in 2023 to 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2024, then exploded for 38 tackles and 12.5 sacks and first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2025. At 6-6 and 285 pounds he is a heavy-handed power rusher who can reduce inside on passing downs, and he enters his fifth year as one of the most physically imposing edges in the class.
