Clayton.
Auburn
Zach Clayton is an ideal fit for a two-gap 3-4 defensive scheme that prioritizes stout run defense and controlling multiple gaps along the defensive line.
Rotational 3-4 nose tackle Year 1, with the ceiling to become an every-down run-stuffing anchor in the heart of the defense.
He would be a poor fit in a one-gap 4-3 penetrating front where his primary responsibility is to shoot gaps and generate interior pass rush.
His exceptional power and anchor ability make him a valuable asset for teams running a traditional 3-4 system that wants to eat blocks and free up linebackers.
Relative Athletic Score (Kent Lee Platte) benchmarks combine/pro-day numbers against every measured prospect at the position since 1987. 10.00 is elite; 5.00 is average.
