Saturday Sickos: Houston Kept Moving the Target
Four Oklahoma State touchdowns after halftime were not enough: the Cougars answered, then kept the clock.
A comeback that never became a lead
Oklahoma State scored touchdowns on four of its five second-half possessions at Houston on October 17, 2026. It produced twenty-nine points after halftime and still lost 35–32. The explanation is not that the comeback lacked substance. It is that Houston kept answering it, then ended the evening with a possession that denied the Cowboys another attempt.
That makes this a particularly satisfying Saturday Sickos game: a furious recovery without a completed reversal. The Cowboys repeatedly moved within one score. The Cougars repeatedly moved the target. When Oklahoma State finally cut the gap to three with 4:54 remaining, Houston did not need a sixth touchdown. It needed to keep the ball, and it did.
