Week 4: Simmons Resets the Scale, Smith Concentrates the Offense

Simmons’s disruptive afternoon, Smith’s receiving concentration and Baugh’s sustained workload create three distinct scouting questions.

A week defined by concentrated responsibility

This Week 4 edition, published October 12, 2026, returns to the September 26 slate. Its defining performances were not interchangeable displays of dominance. Colin Simmons generated an extraordinary collection of negative-yardage defensive credits for Texas. Jeremiah Smith absorbed an enormous share of Ohio State's receiving production. Jadan Baugh handled a substantial rushing workload for Florida. Each offers a different answer to the same question: where did a team place its football responsibility?

Colin Simmons is the defensive headline of Texas’s 20–17 win at Tennessee. Texas’s September 29 official report credits him with 5.5 sacks and nine tackles.
